October 3rd Saturday Swap 2013

Our next swap is Saturday, October 19th at City Folks Farm Shop in Clintonville. Gathering time for the 3rd Saturday Food Swap begins around 12 noon. Come and set up, sample the foods available for swapping and network with like-minded food swapper folks. The actual swap will occur at 1:00pm or after our farmers market crews have arrived with their products for trade.

How to Attend

What to Bring
Some people may be interested in coming to the swap, but are uncertain of what to bring. Here are some suggestions:

  • Fresh produce
  • Fresh salsa
  • Fresh or dried herbs or herb products such as lemon verbena syrup (that rocked Meg!)
  • Any home canned items
  • Homemade beer, wine or cordials
  • Homemade frozen items such as sorbets, ice creams
  • Spice mixes such as meat rubs, dip mixes, home made extracts
  • Homemade cookies or breads
  • Homemade noodles
  • Eggs from your backyard chickens
  • Soup mixes
  • Homemade cheeses
  • honey

I do ask that you place an ingredient label on all items you plan to trade, unless its in the raw form.

Attention All Local Producers!
If you are a farmer's market vendor in the Columbus area, we want you!  Bring your mislabeled products or leftovers from market to the swap. I know you don't really want to take those extras home and we'd love to trade with you. If you know of other farmer/producers who may be interested, please invite them to participate. If they RSVP and we know they are coming, we will wait to begin the swap until after they arrive.
Wow, I'm so excited about this upcoming food swap! I love fall and the bounty it offers. I hope you can make this month's City Food Swap. The variety is looking very promising.
